A post for those of you who are trying to decide exactly what look & feel you want to go for…
Posed boudoir / portrait sessions take place in a studio, as a photographer we have the ability to control most of the variables there. From lighting & backdrops, we’re in charge of the lighting & look and feel and plan and prepare for the session to a T.
Studio sessions are perfect if you’re looking for a specific look and feel. Feel free to send me a message to discuss your session.
LIFESTYLE HOME SESSION
Lifestyle in home sessions are different. As a photographer we are more flexible in setting up scenes and capturing shots.
I’ve always felt in my heart that home was the best place for a photo session. Well, if you are aiming to capture the place where 90% of memories happen, you can’t beat it. I’m a big believer on shooting people as naturally as possible. While there are more variables in this style of photography, the possibility for unposed and raw feeling images is much higher… and this is how magic happens!
Outdoor sessions are very similar to lifestyle in home sessions, it’s unique & there’s no limit to the beautiful backgrounds to choose from, it’s all about deciding on a mood (light and airy or dark and mysterious?) and finding a semi secluded safe spot. The con, we need to keep our eyes open, decide on a decently safe spot and have someone watching our backs. Thank goodness, I’ve never run into any safety issues shooting an outdoor boudoir session but I would never do a shoot without feeling that myself & the client are safe.
Lifestyle & Outdoor sessions will always feel more natural and intimate than studio sessions. However, the studio allows for optimal lighting, a larger variety of backdrops and props, and highly specific creative poses/outfit ideas to be played out.
So you see, while I L O V E both Studio and lifestyle sessions, it really is all about YOUR preference. What type of images do you want!
Either way, I will be there – camera ready 🙂
STILL CAN’T DECIDE?
Well let’s chat!
Keep in mind you’re welcome to do two locations, some in studio or from home and a few outdoor.
